Workers At Silgan Locked Out In Dispute

Monday morning, 67 members of the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 540 who work at the Silgan Containers manufacturing plant found themselves locked out and unable to do their jobs. The hard-working members of Local 540 are committed to finding a solution that will get them back to work as soon as possible with the better workplace conditions they’ve earned and deserve.

“The bottom line is that we want to work,” said Jeff Coulter, bargaining committee member, who’s been at the plant for over 25 years. “We’re here and ready to bargain with Silgan Containers about things that affect all of us in order to make our workplace and community better. We want to get back to work and providing for our families.”
