Wright City Man Killed Outside Choctaw County Bar

A Wright City man was shot and killed about midnight Saturday outside Tommy’s Bar in Choctaw County near Fort Towson. Thomas Phillips had gone to the business to check on his wife, got into a fight, and employees kicked him out. He went outside, retrieved a firearm, and fired several times into the building. Reportedly, Phillips killed an unidentified victim, fled the scene, and led deputies on a chase before crashing into a tree. They flew Phillips to a hospital in critical condition, but authorities say they will charge him with murder.
