Young Girl Drowns In Red River

Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not released the name of the 10-year-old girl who drowned over the weekend in the Red River. The girl was from Texarkana and wading in the river south of Idabel Saturday evening around 6:00. She was not wearing a flotation device. She slipped and went underwater and did not resurface. Authorities found her three hours later more than 200 feet from where friends last saw her.
