If voters approve a $56 million bond issue in the May 7 municipal election, the North Lamar ISD has found a site to build two new campuses. The district is looking to buy 35 acres of land and a building on Hwy 271 belonging to the Christian Fellowship Church. The proposed bond issue would fund the construction of two new schools to replace Higgins and Everett Elementary schools as well as Bailey Intermediate. Money raised if the bond passes will also pay for renovations at other campuses.
