Appellate Court Upholds 99-Year Upshur County Sentence

The Sixth Court of Criminal Appeals in Texarkana has upheld the conviction and 99-year prison sentence of Lance Taylor in an Upshur County case. A court convicted Taylor of retaliation against a witness in a January 2021 incident, and the 99-year sentence followed. The retaliation verdict and 99-year sentence followed Taylor’s threats to kill the victim if she testified against him, which she did despite the dangers. Taylor had seven prior felony convictions and four misdemeanor convictions in the late 1990s.
