Severe storms roared through Northeast Texas Thursday afternoon. A tornado was confirmed to have touched down in Lamar County. Reports show that a tornado east of Roxton traveled across TX19 and 24 to US 271. The twister flipped an 18-wheeler and threw cars off the road. Ham radio operators reported damage along State Highway 24, five to eight miles south of Paris. Trees were down on power lines near Honey Grove. A powerline came down on a car, trapping its occupants. Radar indicated 4″ hail or grapefruit size, east of Bogata near Cuthand in Red River County before the storm lost strength. There were no immediate reports of any injuries.
