Lamar County Coronavirus Update

The Paris–Lamar County Health District is reporting an additional 37 new COVID-19 cases. It said there are no recent deaths related to the disease. There have been 2,824 confirmed cases of coronavirus since testing began in March.

Lamar County Coronavirus Update

The Paris Lamar County Health District reports that the county had 112 new cases of COVID-19 between November 26 and 30. There have been 2,787 total positives for the disease. The health district reports 55 total deaths, but the state DSHS dashboard shows 67 total fatalities from the virus.

Oklahoma Coronavirus Update

Oklahoma reported 2,200 more coronavirus cases on Monday as overall cases in the state near 200,000. There were seven more deaths, bringing the total to 1,743 since the pandemic began.

Sulphur Springs Man Jailed For Family Violence

Hopkins County Deputies arrested a 48-year-old Sulphur Springs man for Assault Family Violence by Impeding Breath or Circulation. Gregory Dan Mitchell allegedly choked a woman so intensely that her eyes temporarily crossed. Officials released him from the Hopkins County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond.

Two Pedestrians Struck And Killed

A pickup struck a killed Mark Everett Nevala, 52, and Rhonda Rae Kulp, 55, both of Brandon, FL, Sunday night. They were crossing US 80 at Wills Point when the driver tried to avoid hitting them. Nevala died at a hospital in Canton, and Kulp died at a Tyler hospital.

Central Texas Judge Reinstates COVID Restrictions

McLennan County Judge Scott Felton issued a resolution that closes all bars.
