Fire destroyed a home in Cooper Wednesday. Firefighters from Cooper were provided mutual aid by several volunteer departments in Hopkins County and they were able to prevent nearby homes from burning. One neighboring home, however, received smoke damage. Several firefighters suffered heat exhaustion, but there were no other injuries.
