A jury has been selected and testimony gets underway in Franklin County District Court today in the Capital murder trial of 22 year old James Arthur Crawford III of Jefferson. He’s accused of killing 75 year old Kenneth Rex Raley at a home in the 900 block of Miller Street in Mount Vernon in September of 2014. District Attorney Will Ramsay is NOT seeking the death penalty in the case, and if Crawford is convicted, he will be automatically sentenced to Life In Prison without Parole.
