Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt announced Tuesday that the state would request tribal leaders to join him in signing an extension to the tribal gaming compacts. The language of the agreement will allow each side that signs on to retain their legal positions, Stitt said. He wants the business to continue as usual what the state and casinos resolve the dispute. It is unclear how long the negotiation would last, but an extension to operate is not needed on Jan. 1.
