The State of Oklahoma executed a man convicted of killing an elderly couple and committing other crimes 20 years ago before authorities captured him in Texas. Thursday morning, 62-year-old Scott James Eizember received the lethal injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. They pronounced him dead at 10:15 am. Last month, his attorneys asked Oklahoma’s Pardon and Parole Board to spare his life, saying the killings were unplanned and spontaneous. Instead, the board voted 3-2 to reject a clemency recommendation.
