At approximately 6:55 Thursday morning, Troopers responded to a two vehicle fatality crash on SH-149 in Gregg County, 1.5 miles south of the city of Lakeport. Preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2001 Ford Mustang, driven by Gregory Lloyd Mishler, 62 years of age of Gilmer, was traveling southbound on SH-149 at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions. A 2013 Ford F-150, driven by Rickey Lane Lee, 48 years of age of Center, was traveling northbound on the same roadway. The Ford Mustang, driven by Mishler, hydroplaned, lost control and entered a right side skid, crossing the center stripe of the roadway and into oncoming traffic. The Ford F-150 driven by Lee, struck the right side the Mustang. MIshler was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Mathis, his body was taken to Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Rickey Lee was taken to Good Shepherd medical center in Longview, where he was treated and released. The investigation is ongoing.
