Plenty To Do In Paris This Weekend

 

Kid Safe Saturday is tomorrow from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at Love Civic Center. Lots of free stuff and education materials. Police, Fire, and EMS vehicles and personnel will be on scene to answer questions and perform demonstrations. Several area organizations will be inside the civic center with booths set up. Hundreds of anglers are expected at Pat Mayse Lake tomorrow morning at 6:00 am for the 31st Annual Uncle Jesse’s Big Bass Classic. Registration is available until the start of the tournament, but organizers would prefer that entrants sign up in advance at Brannan’s Bass Shop in Powderly, until 7:00 pm tonight. The cost is $225 for a four-person team.

The Paris Downtown Merchants Association is hosting an evening of art, music, food, and beverages for the Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Art Walk in historic downtown Paris tomorrow. Local artisans will be featured in ten downtown venues.

Chisum Project graduation presents the Color Fun Run tomorrow starting at the Love Civic Center trail entrance. Registration and T-Shirt pickup are from 7:30 am till 9:00 am. The 5k Run-Walk starts at 9:00 am. The cost s $15 for 12 and under and $25 for those 13 and up. A T-shirt included when you pre-register at any Chisum campus or administration building.

The Chicota Community Center is hosting a Cinco de Mayo Celebration and fundraiser tomorrow at 5:00 pm. The cost is $8 for an enchilada meal with all the fixings between 4:00 and 7:00. The center will also offer Bingo.

The Roxton Hawg Waller will be held tomorrow at the Roxton ISD Fine Arts building. Events will be inside and outside, and space is still available for outside vendors at $10 a booth. There will be activities like a pig chase, softball games, corn-hole, and vendors will be selling homemade food, arts and crafts, and clothing. The event is from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.

The Paris Farmers and Artisans fair begins tomorrow and will continue from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm every Saturday through October. A full slate of vendors selling local food products and wine will be on hand. Also on sale will be handmade jewelry, pottery and other arts and crafts.  The Master Gardeners will be hosting their annual plant sale tomorrow.
