A strong cold front will bring much harder air and very windy conditions for much of the weekend. Winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 50 will be a good possibility Friday night and Saturday. Wind chills by Saturday night will dip into the teens and single digits, so remember to protect the “Four Ps,” people, pets, pipes, and plants. Fire danger will remain elevated due to dry vegetation and strong winds despite the colder air. Occasional flurries are possible across the northeast third of the region, but the NWS expects no impacts. Conditions will improve on Sunday as wind speeds decrease and more sunshine enters the picture.
