Teen Drowns In Pat Mayse Lake

A teenager drowned Saturday afternoon while swimming  in Pat Mayse Lake in Lamar County. The boy and his friends were reportedly swimming across the lake towards a wooded area when the boy went under and didn’t resurface. Law enforcement, fire-rescue and game wardens responded to the scene and the boy’s body was recovered by the Paris Dive Team shortly before 8pm after it was located by sonar.
