This year’s Hopkins County Junior Market Show and Sale had 300 projects and 257 young participating from almost every school in Hopkins County. Not final but a record more than $370,000 was raised at the Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show SALE OF CHAMPIONS. 124 youth projects made the sale. Another record.
Grand Steer: Cheyenne Gray, MGFFA, Buyer was 10-2-4 Ranch. Purchase price $6,550/$5/lb.
Grand Swine: Harli Watson, MGFFA, Buyer was Cumby Telephone Cooperative. Purchase Price $3,100.
Grand Lamb: Tanner Swinson, HC4H. Buyer was Brian Toliver Ford/ Alliance Bank/ Northeast Texas Farmers Co-op & Friends. Purchase price $4,200.
Grand Goat: Parris Puckett, SSFFA, Buyer was 10-2-4 Ranch. Purchase price $4,400.
Grand Poultry: Braxton Northcutt, MGFFA. Buyer was Sulphur Springs Dodge. Purchase price was $2,200.
Four scholarships were awarded Saturday at the Hopkins County Junior Market Livestock Show SALE OF CHAMPIONS by Sherry Spradlin, wife of the late Larry Spradlin, and NETLA President Kevin Gibson, after the 50th project sold: Winners were Cody Vance- SBFFA- $1500, Shelby Lackey- MGFFA- $1500, Peyton Coke- HC4H- $1500 Dakota Watkins- SSFFA- $1500.
