Paris Police Report For Tuesday (Aug 22)

Monday morning after 8:00 Paris Police observed a black four-door pickup parked in the 500 block of NW 13th which was known to belong to Zachari Johnson, 25, who had an outstanding warrant. Officers approached the vehicle and found Johnson in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a large amount of synthetic marijuana, less than six grams. They arrested Johnson for the misdemeanor warrant, another misdemeanor charge, and manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.

Paris Police responded to the 1400 block of SW 4th in regards to a welfare concern. Officers arrested Otis Knight, 31, after finding him passed out in the driver’s seat. Officers observed two baggies of synthetic marijuana inside the vehicle. As officers were placing Knight under arrest, Knight grabbed the baggies of synthetic marijuana and began trying to pull away from the officer. Knight threw the baggies into tall grass near the vehicle. Knight was subdued and charged with tampering with physical evidence and several misdemeanor charges.

Paris Police responded to 99 calls for service and arrested seven people over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 am Tuesday (Aug 22).
