Because of recent cases of COVID-19, the Upshur County Jail has restricted which suspects it will book. Arrests will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis when booking a suspect into the jail. Suspects in violent crimes will continue to be incarcerated. Inmate visitation has been suspended for 30 days.
