Burglary Suspect Arrested In Hopkins County

An allegedly intoxicated man attempting to drive an allegedly stolen tractor was arrested on Spur 71 by Hopkins County deputies and Sulphur Springs police after nearly causing an accident. Officers found golf clubs and fishing equipment that had been stolen in recent burglaries in the Peerless Community on the tractor. 44 year old  William Pearce Ewton of Sulphur Springs was charged with Theft of Property over $30,000 but under $150,000, Burglary of a Building, Theft of Property over $100 but under $750, and Public Intoxication. His bonds total $31,000 and he remains in the Hopkins County jail.
