This year’s REACH Rally will be Saturday October 8th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM Inside Love Civic Center. Benefiting the Red River Valley Down Syndrome Society. Annual Awareness Walk for individuals with disabilities. Bounce Houses, games, food, and fun.

The Reno Parks and Trail Committee is hosting the Reno Haunted Trail tomorrow and Saturday from 7pm to 11pm. To accommodate the props and decorations being put up for the Haunted Trail, the trail will be closed between Airport and Key West Roads from Friday at 8am to dawn on Sunday.

Friday October 7th from 4:30-7pm it’s the 2nd annual Art of the Heart! Come out to view a collection of artworks that hold a special place in the owners hearts and hear their stories. This special show is for one night only. It is free and open to the public. Peoples Bank Lobby 35 South Plaza, Downtown Paris, TX. Organized by Lena Spencer, Hosted by Peoples bank and Benefitting Paris Community Theatre. If you own a work of art with a heart warming story, we invite you to be a part of this event, proudly exhibit and share the story with our community! All forms of art are accepted, paintings, drawings, sculpture, quilts etc..handmade items. The fee to exhibit your treasured piece for this special night is $50. The next Cruisin On The Plaza is Friday October 7 from 5-10pm.  Antique and Classic Car Owners on the Plaza showing off their cars. Enjoy viewing and visiting with the owners.

Paris Texas Antique Fair & Wine Festival. Friday and Saturday October 7th & 8th. Brought to you by the Paris Downtown Association. Enjoy the Party on the Plaza Friday Evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. Live Music, Dancing on the Plaza, Late Night shopping and Free Refreshments. Saturday from 9-5 at the Historic Gibraltar Hotel there will be hand picked vendors, delicious food, wine tasting, the B’s Ladies Glamping League. For more info call 903-784-6711.

The Explore the Blue 5k / 1 mile fun run is a fundraiser for the Commerce Police Department Explorer Program which allows teens from the ages of 14 to 21 to explore a career in Law Enforcement and leadership. If you would like to help but cannot attend, you can go to www.exploretheblue.org and click on the 5k fun run tag to donate. That is the same place to go to register for the race or to purchase a t-shirt to support the program. The 5k will be held on October 8th and the race starts at 8am. The race will start in the 1900 block of Alamo Street in front of the City of Commerce City Hall.

The Delta County Cotton Harvest Festival will be Saturday October 8th.  The carnival will be open from 10PM until midnight Friday night the 7th the night before Cotton Harvest.

 

Beginning Saturday morning, the Chamber will hold a fun run 5K race/2 mile walk.  Start training now!  Registration begins at 6:30 AM and race begins at 8:00 AM.  Awards will be handed out IMMEDIATELY after race!

There will be a LIVE AUCTION on Saturday from 7 to 7:30 PM!  They will be auctioning the FIRST BALE of COTTON from Delta County donated by PPF Farms!  We will also have lots of great items to auction including but not limited to a firearm, Paris Optical eye exams and glasses and other great items.

Headlining the event Saturday night will be the awesome JOSH WARD Texas Country Recording Artist!  He will begin playing at 8PM.  www.joshwardmusic.com   ALL CONCERTS WILL BE FREE TO EVERYONE!  No admission to attend the concert.  Anyone like free stuff?  I thought so.

 

They will have a CARNIVAL on the SQUARE!!!!  Yeah that’s right!  It will be Saturday.  We will also open the carnival for a short time Friday night (10PM-Midnight) prior to Cotton Harvest to accommodate the Homecoming crowd who will be at the football game supporting the COOPER BULLDOGS!  You can purchase advanced arm bands for an “all you can ride” night.  Tickets will be distributed with the help of the schools the week prior to the carnival.  We will make an effort to be available multiple times at both the elementary and the high school.
