The North Lamar ISD Board consulted with an attorney at this week’s meeting about a possible bond election. The board went into executive session, but did not take any action.  Officials say it’s likely the board will call a bond election at next week’s meeting.

  The Paris Junior College Board of Regents has unanimously approved a measure that could realign the current board. PJC can now file a bill that could allow the board to move from 9 to 7 members. The board could also decide to stay with 9 members.

  Paris Police made contact with 34 year old Elbert Patton  in the 200 block of NW 6th  after a traffic stop and found him in possession of numerous baggies containing synthetic marijuana. Patton was charged with manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.

  Paris police arrested 23 year old Marcus Smith after they found him in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen. Smith was also charged with three misdemeanors. The handgun had been reported stolen during a burglary in August that occurred  in the 900 block of E Houston. …
