Black Bears Spotted In NE Texas

Wildlife experts say the growing black bear population in Oklahoma is migrating south of the Red River. At least one bear was spotted over the weekend in Cass County. The bears tend to stay in wooded areas, but sometimes venture out looking for food. Hunting bear is illegal in Texas because the animals have been designated protected species. No injuries to humans or animals have been reported resulting from the recent bear sightings in our area.
