Cowboys Now 2-0 Plus High School Football In Today’s Sports Update

In Gilmer on Friday night, the Paris Wildcats defeated the Buckeyes 37–20 on 101.9 KBUS. Both teams came into the game ranked number five. Paris In 4A division one. Gilmer In 4A division two.

At RL Maddox stadium the Crandall Pirates defeated North Lamar 27–6. Crandall only led by one point headed into the fourth before scoring three times in a three-minute span.

Honey Grove easily took care of Alba-Golden 36–0. Winnsboro blanked Chisum 44–0. It was Clarksville over Prairiland 38–22. Detroit put up 58 in a 58–12 win over Boles.

Rivercrest is now 3–0 after a 47–7 win over James Bowie. And the Cooper Bulldogs fell 35–21 to Rains High School.

In volleyball, Prairiland took care of Cado Mills in three sets. Paris defeated Mt Pleasant in four. Detroit beat Tom Bean in four. And North Lamar fell to Princeton in four.

The No. 12 Texas A&M University-Commerce football team scored the game’s final two touchdowns and made a stand late to earn a 34–27 win over Western Oregon University at McArthur Field on Saturday afternoon. The Lions move to 2–0 on the season with the victory, earning head coach David Bailiff his first road win in the blue and gold.

Coming up this Friday night in High school football on the radio, Mt Pleasant is back in action with a Homecoming game with Paris at 7:30 pm on KLAKE 97.7 and KBUS 101.9, Mt Vernon will host Winnsboro in a clash at 7:30 pm on STAR Country 96.9, it’s also Homecoming at Sulphur Springs as they host Royse City at 7:30 pm on STAR Country 95.9. Also Friday night, Pittsburg is at Van, Waskom visits Paul Pewitt, Daingerfield is at DeKalb, Tatum will travel to Hughes Springs, Gilmer travels to Carthage and Rivercrest is at Prairiland.

Dak Prescott threw for nearly 300 yards, three TDs and completed 18 straight passes tying a career record, and Ezekiel Elliott rushed for over 100 yards, as the Dallas Cowboys upended the Washington Redskins 31-21 on the road. They are back at home this Sunday against the hapless Miami Dolphins at 12 noon…..Also, yesterday, the Texans edged the Jaguars 13-12. And the Saints lost Drew Brees with an injured thumb after two series and also lost to the Rams 27-9.

The AP College Football poll is out and there are a few changes, but not at the top. Clemson is No. 1, Alabama No. 2, Georgia is 3rd, LSU is 4th, Oklahoma is No. 5, Ohio State No. 6, Notre Dame is 7th, Auburn is 8th, Florida 9th and Utah is No. 10. Texas stays at No. 12, and Texas A& M dropped to 17th—they will host Auburn this week. Also, this week, No. 3 Georgia will host No. 7 Notre Dame.

Sean Manaea limited Texas to three singles over six scoreless innings, Marcus Semien became the third Oakland slugger with 30 homers and the Athletics beat the Rangers 6-1 Sunday for their sixth straight win. Texas heads to Houston to start a series with the Astros on Tuesday at 7:05 pm.
