Downtown Clarksville Building Destroyed By Fire

Fire destroyed a historic building in the 100-block of East Broadway in Clarksville Saturday afternoon. Officials ruled the building a total loss. About 80 firefighters from 18 departments battled the blaze for about six hours. Those assisting the Clarksville department included the Reno, Talco, Bogata, Mount Vernon, North Franklin, and Faught departments. Several firefighters sustained minor injuries from the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
