Federal Appeals Court Denies Stay For Texas Inmate

A federal appeals court has given the go-ahead for a Texas man’s execution this week. Ruben Gutierrez was condemned for the 1998 fatal stabbing of 85-year-old Escolastica Harrison at her home in Brownsville and, his lawyer says he’ll appeal the latest decision. The state scheduled Gutierrez to die by lethal injection tomorrow evening.
