Fund Established for Wounded East Texas Deputy

A fund is being set up to help an East Texas sheriff’s  deputy who was critically injured in a shooting in 2005. Smith County Deputy Sherman Dollison was shot five times by a gunman at the Smith County Courthouse and the gunman was later shot to death. Dollison was back on the job, working as a detective for the sheriff’s department but has been readmitted to the hospital and is now experiencing life threatening complications directly related to his previous injuries.
