Galveston Oysters Blamed For Norovirus Outbreak

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the Texas Department of State Health Services, and other public health partners are investigating a multistate outbreak of norovirus illnesses linked to raw oysters from Galveston Bay. At least 211 conditions have occurred since December 15 in Texas and seven other states. Anyone who consumes raw shellfish is at risk of contracting norovirus.
