A Northeast Texas man has been sentenced to 12-and-a-half years in prison on felony drug and other charges. James Earl Buchanan, 30, of Gilmer, pleaded guilty in federal court to distribution of 500 grams or more of a mixture containing methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute heroin, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
