More East Texas Pot Farms Discovered

More than 5,000 marijuana plants were found in a wooded area between Kilgore and Tyler, and a man believed to be an illegal immigrant from Mexico was captured.  Law enforcement officers from several agencies removed or destroyed the plants on Tuesday. Another marijuana field with 5200 plants worth about $6 million was found  between  Frankston and Palestine Tuesday. Authorities from multiple agencies were on the scene searching for suspects.  Authorities believe the recent East Texas marijuana grow operations were connected with the Mexican drug cartels.
