New COVID Variant Identified In North Texas

Researchers at UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas have confirmed at least three cases of “stealth omicron” in North Texas. They dubbed the variant “stealth omicron” because it can be challenging to detect in PCR tests. Three cases of the variant, called BA2, have also been identified in Houston. Worldwide the new variant has shown up in more than 40 countries.
