Sculpture makes a mark at State VASE competition
Luke Landreneau, a senior at North Lamar High School, won a Blue Seal at the State Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) competition on April 26-27 in San Marcos.
“They only award gold or blue seals, so this is quite an honor!” said NLHS Art instructor Brandi Peel, who attended the competition with Landreneau.
Landreneau’s sculpture is a three-dimensional wooden structure with an acrylic paint pouring that sits upon a base of natural wood and moss. The high gloss epoxy gives the sculpture a glass-like appearance.
