One Dead In Single Vehicle Van Zandt County Crash

There was a fatal crash late Monday night on SH 64, approximately seven miles west of Ben Wheeler in Van Zandt County. The driver of a 2008 Toyota Yaris, Daniel James Adams, 51, of Tyler, traveled east on SH 64 in the outside lane. The vehicle drifted off the roadway into the south ditch of SH 64, where it struck several mailboxes, a concrete culvert and rolled several times. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced at the scene by Judge Shinn. They transported Adams to Hilliard Funeral Home in Van. The crash remains under investigation.
