Paris Police Report Tuesday (Jan 19)

Deonta Del’Jon Penny

Paris Police responded to a family disturbance in the 300-lock of NW 3rd Sunday morning at 7:32. While officers were investigating, Deonta Deo’Jon Penny, 30, of Paris, fled the scene on foot. Officers apprehended Penny, and he had possession of methamphetamine. Police observed Penny throwing a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine or other illegal substances onto the ground. Penny was arrested and charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest or detention, and three Lamar County warrants. He is in Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police met with a victim of a burglary of a building in the 100-block of E. Price Saturday morning at 10:11. The victim reported that someone had entered the building and taken several items. Also missing was a forklift and an ATV from the back fenced in lot. The investigation continues.

Saturday night at 7:23, Paris Police responded to a burglary of a residence in the 1800-block of Polk St. The victim reported that someone had broken a window and had entered the home. The suspect(s) then stole an X-BOX One. The incident is under investigation.

A Paris Police officer made a security check in the 1200-block of Fitzhugh Sunday night after 9:00. The officer talked with a 29-year-old male who fled from the officer on foot after detecting marijuana emitting from his vehicle. The officer could not locate and apprehend the male but did find marijuana, cocaine, and a pistol inside the suspect’s vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

At 7:51 Monday morning, Paris Police met with the victim of a burglary of a business in the 2000-block of N. Main St. The victim said that he had received a call from his alarm company and had called an employee to check the store. He had found that a garage door had been propped open. Once inside, the victim noticed a set of tires and four-floor jacks missing. The incident is under investigation.

Glenda Sue Potter

Paris Police arrested Glenda Sue Potter, 44, of Paris, in the 300-block of Grand Ave. Monday morning at 10:47. Potter had an outstanding felony warrant charging her with manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance and a misdemeanor theft warrant. She is in Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police stopped a vehicle in the 900-block of Clarksville St at 1:38 Monday afternoon for the driver not wearing a seat belt. The officer smelled marijuana and arrested the driver for no driver’s license and possession of drug paraphernalia. The front passenger, Jerrica Sims, 17, of Paris, had control of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The back passenger, Ashley Matilda Perez, 37, and Paris admitted that she had marijuana in the vehicle. When the officer located the marijuana, he also found methamphetamine and prescription pills. Perez was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and a city warrant. They arrested Sims on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and failure to identify when she gave a wrong date of birth. Police booked all three and placed them in jail.

Paris Police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 600-block of Bonham St at 7:47 Monday night and located it on a parking lot. The driver, Ricky Dolan Chase Butler, 29, of Paris, had an outstanding parole violation warrant, city traffic warrants, methamphetamine, and marijuana in his pocket. Officers charged him with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and placed him in the Lamar County Jail.

Paris Police responded to 261 calls for service and arrested 16 persons over the holiday weekend ending at midnight on Monday (Jan 18).
