Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is in the process of soliciting additional airline services to help support the flying needs of the region surrounding the airport. As you may have heard, we are currently working on a massive construction project upgrading our runway, which allows for larger commercial airplanes to utilize our airport. In June we are going to be in direct communication with many sizeable commercial airline companies to encourage them to include Tyler in their flying market plans. I am asking you to communicate with your members and community to rally support for this effort. To help our efforts, we need to convince the airline industry that Tyler Pounds Regional Airport is a viable outlet with demand for air travel. I would appreciate it if you can encourage local business leaders and the public in general to write compelling letters of request regarding additional airline services to Tyler. Specifically, they should include the reasons why they would be more willing to fly out of Tyler as opposed to driving to a larger city. Also including how often they might use the airport’s services. The request letters do not need to be long but should be given on flying needs and not “price reductions due to competition,” knowing this would be the natural outcome if we entice additional airline carriers to Tyler. We would need responses returned to the airport no later than May 31. The best way to get those responses to us would be thru email. Our contact information is as follows:
Tyler Pounds Regional Airport
700 Skyway Blvd., Suite #201
Tyler, TX 75704
Thank you in advance for your support of Tyler Pounds Regional Airport.
Pittsburg-Camp County Chamber of Commerce Marquee Guidelines – We are happy to put your upcoming event on our marquee outside of the office, but I do want to make you aware of the general guidelines. Chamber events receive first-priority, followed by Chamber Member events. If additional space is available, we consider non-chamber member events. We ask that you request space on the marquee at least two weeks in advance. The sign will typically update on Monday afternoon.
Lots of exciting events are coming up in the next few weeks! See below for all of the details. As always, if you have an upcoming announcement, you would like included in a future email, please let me know.
