The Pittsburg Library has had a great summer! We had over 200 students sign up for our Summer Reading Program. We would like to thank McDonald’s, Herschel’s, Main Street Bakery & Deli, Lone Star Skating Rink, Pleasant Bowl, Fruit with a Twist, Deja Vu Consignment Shop, ABC Auto, Cypress Bank & Pittsburg AutoLube for providing incentives and refreshments for our programs. We had Money Camp & Money Games for Teens this summer. Habitat for Humanity of Camp County is proud to announce its Second Annual “Best Beans and Cornbread in the County” Cook-Off held during Pioneer Day on Saturday (Sep 17) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. You know you or someone you know makes the best beans and cornbread you’ve ever eaten. Enter yourself or sponsor them in this year’s cook-off. Get the bragging rights that you are due for either your cooking ability or the fact that you know beans about beans. Proceeds will be used to help us build a new home for Nicole Guel and her family. Call Linda Baxter, Executive Director at 903-767-2306 for more information.
