Sulphur Springs Man Jailed After Raid On Residence

A multi-agency task force consisting of DPS, Sulphur Springs-Hopkins County SCU, and a SWAT team executed a narcotics search warrant in Sulphur Springs and arrested a local man on multiple charges. Officers seized a handgun with the serial number removed, about $10,000 in cash, and some marijuana. They booked 39-year-old Nathaniel Dion Smith, Jr., into the Hopkins County Jail for Possession of Marijuana and theft of a firearm. More charges are possible. Bond has not been set.
