Thousands Lose Power In Sulphur Springs

More than 4000 people were without power Monday because of the winter storm in Texas. As a result, the Sulphur Springs PD was without electricity and depended on its backup gas-powered generator. Atmos lost pressure in the system was the cause of the blackout, according to Marc Maxwell. Since there is insufficient pressure in the Atmos system, the PD’s generator will run out of battery backup in about 30 minutes. The city is rerouting your 911 calls to Hopkins County dispatch.
