Wildfire Scorches Parts Of Choctaw, Pushmataha Counties

On Monday, a massive wildfire destroyed more than 5700 acres in Choctaw and Pushmataha counties. The blaze broke out at about 12:30 Monday afternoon near Spencerville and threatened several structures before crossing the Kiamichi River into Pushmataha County. Firefighters from multiple local departments and the Corps of Engineers battled the blaze for about 13 hours before getting it under control. They did not report any injuries.
