Work Ghosting On the Rise

Companies have been giving candidates the silent treatment for years, and now job seekers are doing it to them. The so-called “work ghosting” has become commonplace among young workers. They often accept a job and then don’t show up. Julie Bauke (bow-key) is a career strategist with the Bauke group. She says there’s a divide between who’s hiring and who’s applying. Bauke says Gen Xers and Millennials will lead the workforce in about seven years. Younger employees demand a better balance between life and work and often want more flexibility to work from home.
