Million Word Readers Recognized At Parker Elementary

Aaron Parker Elementary recently recognized four students for reading more than one million words this school year. A word count was generated through Accelerated Reader (AR), a computer-based reading program that allows students to take a quiz after reading a book. The program tracks the total number of words each student reads.

The four students who were recognized, Ty Shannon, Landon Cunningham, Colby Peek and Alaina Still, have the remaining of the school year to increase their words. All were recognized at the end of the 2016-2017 year for reading beyond a million words. Still ended the year with over two million words while Peek read over five million words.
