Two teenagers were hospitalized after a single vehicle crash on US 271 north of Hugo.   Investigators say the 17 -year-old driver ran the car off the highway and the 18-year -old passenger was ejected five feet from the car. Both teenagers suffered multiple injuries.

Thirty-three-year-old Thomas Gooch of Texarkana was arrested in Titus County on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bonds total $23,000 and as of Sunday night, he remained behind bars.

Upshur County deputies are investigating a shooting incident in the Union Grove area involving a husband and wife. The woman was killed and the man was seriously injured. Investigators believe the  man’s injuries were self inflicted.  He was identified as 37-year-old Mark James Lile of Gladewater.

A long-time East Texas police officer has died after a lengthy battle with COVID 19. Fifty-four-year-old Texarkana PD Lieutenant Clay McClure of Naples had been a police officer for 22 years. He served as a  patrol officer, supervisor and narcotics investigator during his career.
