  Paris Police made contact with 24 year old Jorge Ortiz at a residence in the 1300 block of Margaret. Ortiz was found to be in possession of approximately one gram of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Ortiz was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor charge.

  The Lamar County juvenile who vandalized the Minter Cemetery has been sentenced to serve probation until he turns 18 years old.  The 15 year old was accused of damaging dozens of grave markers.  He was also ordered to pay $6100 restitution.

  Three Hugo students suffered minor injuries when  their school bus was involved in a crash with a passenger vehicle Wednesday morning. One third grader and two high school students were taken to Choctaw Memorial Hospital by their parents. Hugo police are investigating the accident.
