  The Heat Advisory for North Central and East Texas, as well as southern Oklahoma and Western Arkansas has been extended to at least 8pm Friday night. High temperatures will reach the mid and upper 90s with afternoon heat index values between 105 and 108.

  Paris fire officials have ruled that the house fire on SW 23rd Street that claimed the life of 41-year-old Suzanne Sexton started in her bedroom and was accidental. An autopsy will determine Sexton’s exact cause of death.

  Paris police responded to George Wright Homes after being told of a narcotics violation. Officers made contact with 34 year old Ricky  Swaim, and arrested him for possession of a controlled substance when he was found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine.  

  Paris police responded to the 1800 block of Lamar Ave after being notified of a burglary at that location. Multiple tools had been stolen by an unknown suspect from a building that was under construction.  

  Paris police located 18 year old  Makayla Sims  in the 3100 block of NW 19th.  Sims was found to have an outstanding warrant for abandoning or endangering a child and criminal negligence.

  Paris police  responded to the adult probation office in regards to outstanding warrants. Officers arrested 38 year old  Christi Nelson  who was found to have multiple warrants for her arrest which included a felony motion to adjudicate guilt for manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance.
