The Capital Murder trial of 23 year old James Arthur Crawford III of Jefferson continues this week in Franklin County. Crawford is accused of killing 75 year old Kenneth Rex Raley of Mt Vernon in September of 2014. Prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty in the case, and if convicted as charged, Crawford will automatically be sentenced to life in prison without parole. The trial is expected to last through Thursday.
