Cowboys Win Plus NCAA Playoff Poll News In Today’s Sports Update

Last night in Mt Pleasant, the Prairiland Lady Patriots took care of Atlanta in three straight sets 25-7, 25-7 and 25-16. They will play the winner of Ore City and White Oak In the Area round. In other bi-district action, the Chisum Lady Mustangs will play New Boston tonight at 7:00 at Rivercrest.

North Lamar will play Kilgore at 6:00 pm in Wills Point. That game can be heard on Mix 107-7. The Paris Lady Cats will face Henderson in Daingerfield at 6:30 pm. Detroit and Como Pickton will play at 8:00 pm in Mt Vernon, and Rivercrest will play North Hopkins at 6:00 pm at Chisum High School.

The No. 24 Texas A&M University-Commerce football team scored the final 14 points of the game in a 34-20 victory over West Texas A&M University at Buffalo Stadium in the NCAA Division II Football Showcase on Saturday. The Lions move to 7-2 overall on the season and 5-1 in the Lone Star Conference, while the Buffaloes fall to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in league play. The win is the Lions’ sixth consecutive win over WT.

The Dallas Cowboys outscored the Giants 21-3 in the fourth quarter on their way to a 37-18 win on Monday night football. Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 139 yards while Dak Prescott threw for 257 and three TDs. Dallas will play Minnesota on Sunday night football this week.

College basketball gets underway tonight with number one Michigan State taking on number two Kentucky.

And the Dallas Stars look to continue their hot streak as they host the Colorado Avalanche tonight. After starting the season with one win in their first nine games the Stars have won 6 of their last seven games.

The MRI results on the left knee of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett were as hoped for, revealing an MCL sprain, coach Frank Reich said Monday. The Colts play it by ear in determining if Brissett will play in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins (1-7).

Eagles’ wide receiver DeSean Jackson will have surgery to repair a torn abdominal muscle Tuesday, the team announced Monday. Jackson reinjured his abdomen Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Tests revealed that he now has a full tear. The recovery time is expected to be at least six weeks.

Miami Dolphins’ running back Mark Walton has been suspended four games for violating the NFL conduct and substance abuse policy. The four-game league suspension, which is without pay, stems from Walton’s three offseason arrests in the span of three months between January and March.

The Northeast Texas Community College Men’s Soccer team defeated Laredo College, 3-0 on Saturday to advance to the NJCAA Gulf South District Semi-Finals. The Eagles will travel to Eunice, Louisiana to take on tournament host LSU-Eunice on Friday. They will be battling to take on the winner of Tyler Junior College and Jones County Community College (Mississippi) on Saturday to secure a trip to the National Championship tournament.
