Critics Slam Abbott On Transgender Kids Health Care

Civil rights groups are slamming Governor Abbott for his stance that transgender medical care for children is a form of child abuse. But Chase Strangio with the ACLU says there is no way to sue because this is an opinion and not a law. So instead, the governor is ordering the state foster care system to report any children who appear to be receiving transgender medical procedures, including puberty blockers. In addition, several district attorneys in Texas, including those from Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, vow not to remove children from their homes or interfere in private medical matters.
