Cumby Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

After a traffic stop, Cumby Police arrested two women for an obscured license plate. The officer noticed a bottle at the driver’s feet in the car, and a field test showed it was methamphetamine. The driver, 25-year-old Beverly Alaina Bailey of Greenville, and the passenger, 20-year-old Whitney Renee Armstrong of Sulphur Springs, were arrested for Possession of more than one but less than four grams of a controlled substance. They also charged Armstrong on an outstanding Hunt County warrant for drugs, released Bailey on bail, and Armstrong remains in jail.
