A 57-year-old East Texas man has been sentenced in Upshur County to ten years in prison for a DWI crash in Upshur County. Authorities say, Gene Arthur Smith, of Longview, had a Blood Alcohol Content 2-½ times the legal limit when he crashed into a tree. He was on probation for a drug conviction when the crash occurred and had five prior felony arrests.
