VA North Texas To Honor Prisoner of War Veterans
VA North Texas, Health Care System, will observe National Former Prisoner of War Recognition with a brief ceremony and lunch at Frontiers of Flight Museum Friday (Apr 20). It starts at 11:00 am at Frontiers of Flight Museum, Dallas Love Field Airport, 6911 Lemmon Ave. in Dallas.
Since World War I, more than a 142,000 Americans, including 83 women, have been captured and interned as POWs. Only one-third or about 40,000 are still living.
Colors will be presented by Korean War Veterans Association Sam Johnson Chapter with a special presentation to POW Veteran and Congressman Sam Johnson before he departs public office later this year.
