Fake Paper License Tags A Growing Problem

Cops and lawmakers are calling on the state of Texas to take on the problem of fake paper license tags that are on tens of thousands of Texas vehicles right now. Police say people buy fake tags because their vehicles won’t pass inspection or dodge fees and tolls, and some conceal their identities. Texas DMV Executive Director Whitney Brewster calls the situation an emergency and hopes new teeth given to the DMV by the legislature will help with enforcement.
